composer's American Bobtail cat. She was small, had a short
"bobbed" tail, and remarkable soft and fluffy fur. Her
greatest attribute was being irresistibly cute.

The QCCE discovered and recorded the "lost" incidental music that Aaron Copland created with this instrumentation for the play "Quiet City." Then they held a contest for pieces with that instrumentation. One of two winners. Unique staging has since made this work a popular addition at new music festivals.
